Kathleen Natural Collagen Face Mask

Kathleen Naturals Collagen Face Mask review

Kathleen Natural has long since been a favourite brand of mine and I was thrilled to see a new collection of delicate face masks launched this month. However, I’d be the first to hold my hands up and say I don’t often use face masks, omitting them from my skincare routine through nothing other than pure laziness.

That said, when the colder weather comes around and the nights draw in I do like to have a bit of a comforting pamper session and given a choice of face masks, I would always pick a natural or plant-based formula. I’m particular about what I use on my skin, especially if I’m to leave it on my face for several minutes at a time. Happily, as with the entire Kathleen product range, the masks are 100% Natural and formulated with 94% Organic ingredients. They’re also vegan-friendly and cruelty-free.

You can choose from four – a deep pore treatment mask, a dead sea mud clay mask, a brightening formula and mine – the Collagen mask. which is said to hydrate, firm and repair the skin.

“Infused with retinol to stimulate collagen production and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles”.

Simply put, Retinol gently resurfaces the skin over a period of around four weeks increasing new skin cell turnover allowing new, young cells to surface rapidly. If you’re interested in finding out more about how Retinol can help with any manner of skin concerns, do have a read of my article on luxury skincare where I touched on the subject of Retinol in more depth.

When used regularly, face masks have many benefits from topping up hydration levels in the skin to brightening, firming and reducing the signs of ageing; they can also help draw out impurities for a deep-pore cleanse. Kathleen Natural face masks double as therapeutic aromatherapy products, infused with calming essential oils along with antioxidants and natural plant-derived aromas to soothe your senses.

Apply a thin, even layer to freshly cleansed skin and leave to work for 10-15 minutes, whilst you go about your day. Otherwise, go all out with a truly decadent pamper and set aside some time for a few moments of luxury. Light a candle – (non-toxic variety, of course) or take a warm bath and let the mask work its magic for ten minutes, your senses will really have a treat too with the wonderful, botanical aroma. Remove with a warm, damp face cloth and rinse skin thoroughly of any remaining residue.

Kathleen Naturals new Collagen face mask

Kathleen Collagen Mask helps to Purify, firm and deeply hydrate the skin reducing the appearance of enlarged pores, fine lines and wrinkles.

I must admit, I found the mask an unusual consistency at first glance and with a light clay appearance I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. The mask smells wonderful and once applied to the skin, it dries quickly and becomes chalky, however, on removal, it really does leave my skin silky soft with a fresh, clean feeling.

Recommended Use is once a week, or as desired. Apply a thin layer, avoiding the lip and eye areas. Since a little spreads well over the skin, there’s plenty in the pot for several treatments. (60ml £28 60ml).

What about you? Would you choose a natural alternative to treat your skin? I’d love to know what you think! Why not have a With such attractive packaging, any one of these masks would make a wonderful Christmas gift.

I love Kathleen as a brand too and actually have a different one of their new masks here to try out! It’s great to hear that you like this one and that it leaves your skin feeling great! I can be pretty lazy when it comes to masks too and have to make a conscious effort to use them!

Can’t wait to try something like this when I’m not feeding – I really need retinol right now, but I’m using bakuchiol instead. Yet to try the Kathleen brand but everything looks really nice! Beautiful photo too! Xx
