It’s not often you’ll discover true, premium skincare when choosing organic, ethically sourced or plant-based products but naturally, we love the idea of luxury and tend to be drawn in by it.
LEXIRA by Sveti Cosmetics is the exception to that rule. A luxury, organic cosmetic line and natural elixir inspired by founder Tsveta’s previous love of Dior. Exquisitely curated in both ingredients and packaging to encapsulate the ultimate, premium skincare experience. Bring a touch of Dior-esque glamour to your bathroom shelf or dresser with beautifully adorned, 100 per cent recyclable glass bottles wrapped in a soft, feminine rose print to perfectly embody the Bulgarian Rosa Damascena heritage of Lexira.
As you might expect from a premium skincare brand, all LEXIRA products are formulated with the finest, natural oils and butters and are free from preservatives, artificial fragrance, parabens, silicones, mineral oils, colouring agents, PEG, SLS and SLES.
“Apart from its scientific properties, the gentle fragrance of roses stimulates the senses, relaxes the mind and evokes a feeling of joy and happiness”. – Sveti Cosmetics.
Certainly, for me, the scent of roses brings back childhood memories of my sister and I creating our very own rose “perfume” with the help of our mother’s pestle and mortar. After crushing and grinding the delicate petals, a little water was added and the liquid was then decanted into small bottles where it remained, (mostly unused) until its dying day. Of course, producing cosmetic grade rose oil isn’t quite that simple!
Why Bulgarian rose oil?
Deep within the Balkan mountains lies a unique valley – the “Bulgarian Valley Of Roses” and whilst Bulgaria isn’t generally a country associated with fine cosmetics, it’s renowned for its production of rose otto and Bulgarian rose oil which dates back to the 16th century. The first rose plantations appeared in the magical towns of Kazanluk, Karlovo and Kalofer where there’s something about the air, climate and soil structure which come together creating the perfect conditions to stimulate a natural synthesis of the highest quality rose oil in the world. Widely recognised and used by many top cosmetic brands.
For more than 400 years, central Bulgaria’s Rose Valley has been considered the world centre for rose oil production.
The Bulgarian rose-picking season begins in May and continues throughout June with the gathering process traditionally being a women’s task – possibly for its prerequisite of dexterity and patience. Each flower is carefully cut and laid in willow baskets ready to be sent to the distilleries. If you’re ever fortunate enough to visit the fragrant Rose Valley, you can join in with the picking process where tourists are allowed to partake on weekend mornings in an organised ritual reenactment. Most definitely, one to add to your bucket list!
Sveti Cosmetics founder, Tsveta, was born in the Rose Valley and as a child, would rise before the sun and begin gathering rose blossoms to be used in cosmetics, pеrfumery, pharmaceuticals and even in cooking. Tsveta now happily brings some of the best organic rose oil products to the United Kingdom…

There’s clearly been no expense spared in producing beautifully designed, thoughtful and informative packaging for LEXIRA.
Overall, my day and night specific products have been an absolute joy to use over the last four to five weeks or so, and I absolutely adore both the performance and scent. As their names suggest, the consistency feels luxurious, “expensive” if you will, and In terms of a result – I was pleasantly surprised. For someone who’s main skin concern is dehydration, these products have cared for and maintained hydration levels in my skin. Particularly on waking, I haven’t found any tightness or experienced that sensation we sometimes have in the mornings where our skin is crying out for moisture.
Often, for a hand-made to order product containing precious oils and decadent ingredients, you may well expect a “high end” price point, and that expectation remains true for LEXIRA. Definitely, a considered purchase at £79 each – which for most of us would be out of the question. However, if your budget allows the splurge and you’re partial to rose scented skincare then LEXIRA won’t disappoint. You could always treat a loved one to a premium gift as the packaging is sure to delight.
Do have a browse at sveticosmetics and see what else is available in the LEXIRA range. Also, you can find several other fabulous brands, all featuring organic rose oils, plus a vegan-friendly range which is really worth a look.
