Whenever I glide through the automatic doors of Marks & Spencer, I always feel a sense of belonging.
Particularly as I’m Immediately met by a heady mix of new clothes smells and notes of fresh bread wafting through the aisles from the Food Hall. For the longest time, Marks & Spencer wouldn’t have been “my kinda shop” however, my head is turned by an appreciation of gorgeous, seasonal clothing, fabulous homeware and did someone say shoes? kick up your heels in the footwear aisles for a mix of modern, chic and trendy shoes in all the colours and styles your heart could desire.
Recently, I find myself popping into M&S more and more, so let’s look at five good reasons to fall in love (or, back in love with) Marks & Spencer, whichever the case may be.
1. Shoes. No excuses necessary…
I caught sight of these nude heels, whilst popping in for my favourite sourdough loaf; tried them on and had to have them. Cute, girly and feminine, all in one shoe with a chunky heel for comfortable walking. What’s not to love? Also available in black, making them the perfect workwear shoe. These come in half sizes and wide fit. £29.50.
Another pair I had to have are these vegan-friendly blue-toned strappy slingback sandals with a block heel. Not only are they striking with their denim hues, but they’re also really comfortable too, thanks to Insolia® technology which ensures a better foot position and fit. Seems to work! Available in half sizes, plus, four more gorgeous colours to choose from.
2. Faux flowers and plants
Whilst I adore flowers and greenery around my home, I’m particularly partial to the “no maintenance” appeal of faux flowers and plants. Permanently healthy-looking and so realistic nowadays, it’s virtually impossible to tell the difference.
Marks & Spencer’s faux plant selection is fabulous and always lovely quality as you might expect. A particular favourite and one I have my eye on is the large orchid with an ombre glazed ceramic pot. Or, you could really push the boat out with a beautiful, luxury potted orchid to brighten up your hall or window sill. You’ll have to cough up £79 for the latter, albeit worth every penny in terms of quality, no doubt.
3. Cruelty-free makeup and skincare.
All of M&S’ own brand makeup and skincare is proudly cruelty-free and for me, the very reason I love to browse the beauty aisles in store. Rosie by Autograph being a favourite range – designed in collaboration with the beautiful Rosie Huntington Whiteley. Gold, eye-catching packaging inspired by Rosies’s love of all things vintage and her career as a model and actress is a good enough reason to try these gorgeous products. I purchased the Starstruck Lip & Cheek Stick in Rose as I love the convenience of a multipurpose product for my handbag. Get yours for just £15
The pretty packaging features Rosie’s signature gold detailing and with a handy twist-up application you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it!

4. Formula Skin Solutions Face Masks.
Packed with the very latest anti-ageing advancements, the Formula Skin Solutions range is designed to restore and rejuvenate. Affordable, luxury skincare with a range of products from day and night creams to lip treatments – suitable for all skin types.
Face masks have become ever more popular and there’s literally one for every conceivable skin concern these days. M&S’ New Formula range is no exception. Choose from a wonderfully Hydrating Mask with an innovative formula that combines hyaluronic acid and rose water to soothe and plump the skin. Suitable for sensitive skin.
Quench your thirsty skin with the Deeply Nourishing Mask. Blended with skin-softening coconut oil, along with jojoba and olive oils which form a barrier on the skin’s surface locking in moisture. Spoiler, it smells delicious and really does deeply hydrate the skin.
If congestion is your concern, the Purifying Face Mask is for you. Formulated with effective exfoliants and mattifiers this non-drying, purifying mask is a 10-minute detox for your skin; delivering a cleaner, brighter complexion.
All three of the masks I have retail at £14 each and there’s plenty in the pot for several applications. I must admit, my favourite of the three is the Deeply Nourishing Mask, it’s a really thick consistency, feels so soothing and comforting on the skin bringing down any redness or irritation quite quickly, I found. Oh, and did I mention it smells good?!
“These unique masks work well alone, or why not try multi-masking with all three?” – M&S
5. Lingerie
M&S is my first choice for quality undies. A vast selection ranging from lounge bras to push up, in any manner of colours and styles. You’ll be surprised at just how on-trend the bra collections are. Have a browse and make use of the free measuring service so you get the right fit if it’s been a while as you may find you’ve changed in size.
A recent purchase of mine is a new two-pack Tee-shirt bra for a smooth silhouette. I always choose a nude coloured bra for summer as white can be more obvious than you’d expect – (although does have its place). Nude is pretty much invisible under a white tee or top and I rarely wear any other colour during summer.

Loved this blog post, Samantha! I rarely go into M&S unless I’m shopping for someone else, but I absolutely adore both pairs of shoes you picked up. And those beauty products are so photo-worthy! I’m off to take a little peek at what else they’ve got on offer ☺️

I know what you mean! I’ve definitely found a new love for it. The old stigma doesn’t seem to stick like it has done previously, for me anyway. I blame M&S sourdough bread which draws me in and I end up browsing the shoes and clothing aisles. If I’m popping into the cafe I must look at the beauty and homeware too! I’m glad you like my shoes! Thanks lovely x
Learnt something about Mark and Spencer in your posts??

I often pop into M&S whenever I see my mum, she loves it there and it has actually grown on me over the years too. I love their homeware section, they have some really nice things! My most recent purchase is some tropical looking cocktail glasses with watermelons on, love them! 🙂 I love the shoes you have chosen too, they look so stylish. I’ll defo have to check out the shoe section next time I visit, I really need some new summer sandals. And yes, you can never go wrong with M&S undies, they are super comfy and great quality! Fab post Samantha! <3 xx
