A little background on SBC (Simply Beautiful Collection).
known for its award-winning skincare gels and commitment to customer expectations, SBC is a British brand with a twenty-five-year history offering fuss-free, effective, affordable pampering across the years. Proudly cruelty-free, and acutely aware of the importance of environmentally friendly production, along with high-quality, natural ingredients to offer a holistic solution to your skincare needs.
Arnica Montana is a perennial, herbaceous plant of the sunflower family which bears yellow, daisy-like flowers. Found in cooler regions of the northern hemisphere.
The first thing to mention is the fragrance. It’s definitely a “Marmite” scent, meaning you’ll either love it or hate it and Is described as a strong pine-sage scent. Personally, I’d say it definitely strikes with a “ginger” hit, particularly noticeable with the Body Butter. However, we all perceive fragrance in our own way so you’d really need to figure it out for yourself. The Body Gel scent has a subtler, uplifting fragrance with a spa-like appeal. You’ll find yourself reaching for it again and again.
One of the oldest, and most widely used herbal treatments today, arnica soothes discomfort and has a wide array of uses.
Apply to bruises, muscle aches and strains, insect bites and even chapped lips to soothe and comfort. It’s perfect for children too but remember, always patch test both yourself and your children before use as some may find a sensitivity to arnica. With its vibrant, and seasonal appearance, any concerns you may have with colour transfer to bed-sheets or clothing can be dispelled as once the gel is applied there’s no trace of colour left behind.
As with all SBC gels, the water-based formula can be massaged into the skin or patted onto targeted areas.
I’m a review buff so I had a look at the many five-star reviews for the arnica range… The uses are endless with reviewers using it to improve the appearance of spots, to ease arthritic pain and a particular favourite – applying to the forehead to relieve headaches – genius! For extra cooling relief, you can even keep the gel in your fridge and is particularly soothing for sunburn. The list goes on.
It’s one of those products which you’ll quickly find you can’t be without.
For a lovely, relaxing soak after a busy day, pour under running water and take in the aromatic fragrance of the Bath & Shower Créme and create your very own spa experience at home. It really does help soothe away any muscle tension, and for me is wonderful to relieve my ongoing shoulder aches and pains.
Enriched with vitamin E, sweet almond oil and shea butter, bring hydration to your skin with arnica Comforting Body Butter, particularly good for dry and stressed skin. Apply all over following your bath or shower for a super hydrating, indulgent skin treat.
This product isn’t included in the TSV collection, however, it has been given somewhat of a facelift – (formerly known as Wintergreen and Black Pepper Body Cream) it’s being relaunched today so I thought it only fitting to share a little about it.
The packaging for this one is bright orange to signify its extreme heating quality, but also to discourage you from confusing it with other products in the range. Described as “SOS” in a bottle, this aromatic blend of arnica, Wintergreen black pepper and cinnamon bark warms the skin, visibly increasing blood supply and encouraging micro-circulation to help relieve muscle tension. I consider this product a lovelier version of a typical drugstore “warming muscle rub” and since it’s only for targeted use there’s certainly plenty to go round.
Apply topically to targeted areas such as back, shoulders and neck. Avoid the face or sensitive areas and be prepared for the treated area to redden and become very warm! Don’t worry, the reddening will reduce after an hour or so.
I suffer from a fair amount of shoulder and neck ache, I blame years spent as a gymnast, along with sleeping awkwardly which I invariably do.
If I don’t sleep with my neck perfectly aligned, I wake with terrible neck pain and generally a headache which lasts throughout the day to boot. This warming rub has been such a relief for me and I’m able to apply it myself and massage it into targeted areas enjoying the feeling of having a hot water bottle around my neck and shoulders.
Remember, this collection is only available on QVC for 24 hours on 23rd December 2018 only!
Available on two easy pays of £16.99 so it’s even more affordable. (ended).
