I like to buy a couple of new makeup treats each month if I can, and aside from picking up some gorgeous new lippies from The Body Shop, I’ve also chosen some multi-use glow-enhancing products too. Being mother to a thirteen-year-old daughter I’m often coerced into buying products which “we can both use” as she puts it, and since my makeup obsession continues, I find it hard to resist. The first recent purchase is ICONIC London Prep-Set-Glow This multi-use spray is great for priming the skin, setting makeup or, for a natural, bare-faced gloss, (if you dare).
Iconic London’s founder Jade Eliot says of her brand…”The Idea was to create something fun, rebellious and damn right ICONIC” Since our birth in 2015, ICONIC has gone from strength to strength – gathering more fans, more followers and creating more incredible products. Loved by professional makeup artists, celebrities, bloggers and leading Beauty Editors – we are making our own rules.
“Give it a good shake, then spritz over your face before applying foundation, and again afterwards to set your makeup”
I’ve seen a review or two where it’s said that this product delivers chunks of glitter to your face in a wet mist… I can’t say I agree with that at all. However, I would say the mist could do with being a little finer but it’s usable, and not such a concern for me. What I see is a very subtle sheen, I’ve even stood right up to the window with my mirror checking for glitter but as yet, I’m not seeing any. What the reviewers are undoubtedly seeing are simply the light-reflecting particles. For some, this can take on a sparkly appearance, particularly if the baby fine hair on your face is smoothed against the direction of growth… Only then you might see what appears to be glitter.
ICONIC London describes their hero product as “a gorgeous hydrating mist that feels refreshing and contains light reflecting properties that leave the skin with ICONIC’s glow” Available in Original which is what I’m featuring but is also available in a Glow formula which is bronze in colour and would look gorgeous on a darker skin tone.
Multi-use Prep-Set-Glow conditions the skin with Green Tea and Vitamin E, plus caffeine which can perk up dark circles around your eyes.
It’s definitely refreshing to use and does have a lovely fresh scent, in terms of my skin being conditioned I’m not sure I see a real difference there but for what it is I really like this product. Time will tell if I repurchase but let’s see how it goes. This product flies out of stock at ICONIC London and is due back in on the 29th of June. In the meantime, its available to shop below and retails for £18.50.

Another glow-getter I picked out this month is The Body Shop multi-use Illuminating Drops Of Glow – Lustre Finish Creator. I spotted this product when I purchased Drops Of Sun and really liked the look of it. Since rekindling my love for The Body Shop I’m often popping in for a browse and with the makeup being a favourite I decided to purchase Drops Of Glow along with a Fresh Nude foundation and use them both together.
Highlight your cupid’s bow, get your cheekbones chiselled, accent your eyes by using as a topcoat to eyeshadow… the possibilities are endless.
I pump some foundation out on the back of my hand, add a couple of Drops Of Glow, mix in a little of my Drops Of Sun, blend it all together and apply as usual. This method works for me and gives me a lovely natural sun-kissed glow. I’ll then dot a few more Drops Of Glow to the high points of my face and blend in for an extra healthy-looking sheen to my skin. Available to purchase for £12.
Both ICONIC London and The Body Shop are cruelty-free brands.
What are you favourite multi-use or glow-enhancing products? Do you like a dewy look to your skin? I’d love to know! Another product I’ve tried from The Body Shop is Drops Of Sun, worth a read if you want to fake that post-holiday glow.
I didn’t realize TBS had illuminating drops – I need those in my life! *gets out wallet*
I also love the sound of that Iconic mist but I’m not sure if I can find it in Canada?

It’s surprising what you can get in TBS, I find the makeup really good value, you’ll have to get in and have a look! I love the Illuminating drops, pretty sure you will too. ICONIC London do ship internationally if you wanted to look at their website.x
I love your honesty when it comes to products, as I saw the Iconic Prep-Set-Glow Spray compared to the MAC Fix Plus Spray, and I just didn’t know what to believe. I ended up going for the MAC Fix Plus, because my skin does feel more hydrated after using it. It’s a shame that the Iconic one doesn’t quite do the same for you.
The Drops of Glow sounds like a great purchase for summer, and I think I need some to brighten up my foundation. I haven’t been in The Body Shop for a long time, and I think I’m long overdue! Thank you for sharing your thoughts on both of the products, because I’ll bear it in mind when I next do a beauty haul!

You just never really know if a product will work or not! I’ve not tried the MAC spray but that’s because I tend to pick cruelty free brands, however, Mac have a big following and people do tend to reach for it for that reason. I’m glad it suits you and gives you good hydration, we need it even more so with this heat!If you’re looking for a relatively cheap illuminating product then drops Of Sun is a great place to start. xx
Everyone around me has been raving about this Iconic London spray and I haven’t tried it but it’s been on my list, I don’t know if I’ll buy it but I’m not going to lie, it looks so beautiful! I definitely love a dewy look to my face all year around, I’ll look into the Drops of Glow, it sounds like a great product. I usually mix a facial oil and sometimes a liquid highlighter with my foundation to achieve a dewy and glowing look. Great post x

I agree, it is beautiful and when you shake it properly it mesmerises. Its Not the cheapest so a bit of a risk if you end up not loving it! Its very refreshing though. I’ve not thought of mixing a facial oil in with my base product – I’ll have to try that one! Thanks lovely x
