Lumity Anti-Ageing Food Supplement | My Experience

Lumity Anti-ageing food supplement

Last month I visited Robin James Aveda Lifestyle Hair And Beauty salon in Sherborne, which is a picturesque village in Dorset about an hours drive from my home.

I was very kindly invited along for a complimentary spa facial and gel manicure by the owners which was rather lovely. Plus, I was given a month’s supply of Lumity anti-ageing softgels to try.

On arriving at the salon there’s a definite high-end look and feel with a sprawling Aveda beauty spa on the upper floor where I enjoyed a relaxing seventy-five-minute Tulasara facial. This included dry facial brushing, essential oil massage and warming cloths to really open up the pores and let all the good stuff in. The Tulasara is one of many facials available at the salon but with my main skin concern being dehydration, it suited me perfectly.

Afterwards, I returned to the hair salon for my gel manicure.

My friendly therapist Sharon carried out both of my treatments and spent some time with me choosing the right shade of Polish. Robin James salons use OPI for their manicures and I picked out the colour “Humidi Tea” which is a nude pink/beige tone. I love the convenience of a gel manicure so I was over the moon with the finished result.

The salon has a vast array of relative products available to buy, plus, they stock a special anti-ageing supplement called Lumity by Lumity Life. This product targets all nine causes of ageing and is designed to meet the specific needs of our body throughout the day and night. The easy to swallow softgels are separated into two bottles of coffee coloured gels for morning and milk coloured for bedtime.

Lumity bedtime softgels

Lumity claims, for the morning – the gels are formulated with our VITA COMPLEX, also contains vitamins C and E, Selenium and Zinc to help protect your body on a cellular level against oxidative stress. For Bedtime – crafted to maintain the skin from the inside out with our RENEW COMPLEX. High in Omega 3s and amino acids which keeps skin elastic, radiant and supple.

This two-step system works around the clock to ensure:

  • Vitality and brain health,
  • Beautiful skin, hair and nails
  • Strong bones, muscles, joints and teeth
  • Protects against oxidative stress
  • Healthy immune system
  • Optimum nutrientapsorbtion and metabolism

Each bottle contains 84 soft gels of which three are taken at a time. No need to take with food as Lumity soft gels are gentle on the tummy.

Lumity has been developed by research scientist Sara Palmer Hussey PhD to address the demands of modern life and the toll they take on our health and skin. Helping us to maintain energy levels and give our skin back its youthful radiance.

Unlike other, or similar supplements Lumity doesn’t contain any unnecessary ingredients and is free from artificial colours, flavours and dyes, caffeine, dairy and eggs, gluten, melatonin, petrochemicals, sulphates, synthetics, wheat and yeast.

There’s also no soy, this is good news for me as soy (soya), is known to meddle with our hormonal balance.

I have to say, I’m all for topping up my diet with a beauty supplement and so couldn’t resist the offer of trying a months supply of Lumity which I was very kindly gifted by Robin and his wife Lucie. I’ve been a fan of Perfectil for many years but where I see Perfectil as a maintenance supplement (and always served me well for that purpose),  stopping it to try Lumity has changed things up. I was eager to see the difference, however, Lumity takes it to a new level in terms of ingredient quality. Celebrity fans include Yasmin Le Bon, Cheryl Tweedy and Rebecca Adlington to name but a few.

I would say I’m fortunate in that I naturally have strong nails and plenty of hair.

Also, my skin is fairly good in my opinion, aside from those pesky first signs of ageing of course. However, leaving the “beauty” side of things behind for a moment, sleeping is something I struggle with. I can go to bed feeling tired but then just lie there and not settle, sometimes for hours which is frustrating, especially if I have a full day ahead of me.

Lumity bedtime softgels contain magnesium plus amino acids targeted to promote sleep, helping us to drift off a little easier. In terms of my sleeping pattern, It’s difficult to pinpoint as I go through phases of sleep irregularities – some nights I go straight off and others I don’t so perhaps with longer-term use I can expect a definite change there.

“Lumity is a scientifically-calibrated, 2-step formula of high quality, natural ingredients proven to promote youthful health and efficiency inside the body and to nourish and renew the skin from within”

It’s recommended to try a three-month supply of Lumity to really see the full benefit as is pretty normal with any kind of food supplement. On that basis, since I’ve only tried a one month supply my results may differ and/or improve with long-term use. Saying that, there were notable improvements which could be seen from around the two-week mark. In particular, my hair was the first to improve, it just feels healthier and there’s more shine to my root area. Once your hair hits its growing phase you can expect to see a real difference in quality and length. Other than that, my gel manicure has now run its course and been removed, my nails are usually weakened and damaged by gels but this time remained in good condition, with strong, whiter free edges… I put this down to Lumity.

Lumity won’t be in everyone’s budget and is pricey, at £85 for a months supply which amounts to £2.83 per day (cheaper than your daily Starbucks)! We do tend to get what we pay for in life, so with that said, If you’re over the age of twenty-six and serious about investing in the anti-ageing benefits of Lumity or, you want to give your appearance a boost ahead of a special event then give it a try. Visit Lumitylife.co.uk for lots more information. Also, visit robinjameslifestylesalons and see what it’s all about.
