Time for a tech facelift? How about a new custom skin for your phone, laptop, or MacBook?
It’s not something I’ve ever really considered as I love the unmistakable good looks of my silver MacBook Air and it’s featured many a time in my blog photography along the way. However, when Swedish brand Caseapp.co.uk asked me if I’d like to jazz it up a bit with one of their high-quality custom skins, I thought, why not! It’s not a permanent change if you’d rather not commit, as you can peel it off anytime with no damage or effect to your laptop.
CaseApp has many designs to choose from, or you can make your own, as I have – below. The skins and phone cases are available to fit many styles and brands of tech so there’s something for everyone.
I’m currently enjoying Foliage around my home and my particular favourite is Eucalyptus. So, instead of taking the safe option for my new skin and phone case I wanted a current design which is personal to me. Of course, there are several foliage/leaf print options available to choose from and I have to say, I was tempted, but after much deliberation, I decided to go with my own image. The photo I’ve used is of some Eucalyptus sprigs which my father-in-law cut from their tree and I even added my blog logo to really personalise it. All of which was simple to do, you can preview your choices on-screen before making a decision which was helpful. I realise my choice won’t be to everyone’s taste but I love the contrast and texture of the leaves against the muted pink background with an almost a 3D effect.
There’s no extra bulk, and if you’re the owner of a MacBook, the CaseApp skin is cut to fit around that all-important “Apple”
I didn’t have to wait long for my products. They arrived in a large, toughened envelope to prevent them from bending. I got straight to it and first applied my MacBook skin. I was surprised at just how easy it was, there’s no mess involved, simply peel the skin from its backing sheet and carefully apply; making sure it’s lined up around the edges. I must admit, being a perfectionist, I had to remove it and reapply three times as there is a very slight gap all around, (literally, a couple of millimetres) but even so, I wanted to get it looking just right.
My other design of skin and hard case are a more recent change.
Staying with my love of foliage and greenery I picked out the Monstera Deliciosa which is designed by Isabelle Vandeplassche. I thought it would be lovely to freshen up my Macbook and match it up with a new look for my iPhone for spring. The Monstera Deliciosa comes with a matching drawstring bag which was a nice surprise.
The hard iPhone case fits perfectly and is really slimline. You can choose either a matte or gloss finish for your case, I picked a matte finish for mine so that it’s less likely to slip but if you prefer gloss – the option is there. I liked the idea of a matching pair but you could always mix and match.
My experience of using caseApp has been great, the whole process was simple and after not knowing what to expect initially, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of both the skin and case. I would definitely recommend trying it out yourself, or, treat a loved one. I’m so pleased with how they fit perfectly with my current foliage obsession.
