Fake A Post-Holiday Glow With A Few Drops Of Sun

The Body Shop Drops Of Sun

After having eyed up The Body Shop darkening drops for a good while, I finally ventured into the store to swatch the product but what I found took me by surprise if I’m honest, the drops are really dark. This is by no means a bad thing, as a little goes a long way. However, while I was making my decision I spotted Drops Of Sun Honey Bronze and after testing both of the products on the back of my hand for comparison, my mind was made up – Drops Of Sun went in my basket and I wasn’t going to be leaving without it.

“I love to add warmth to my face, it makes eyes appear brighter and teeth look whiter”

I’ll never be without bronzing powder but I’m always open to trying other ways to warm up my complexion for spring, summer, and well, all year round really. I love to tan but my skin begs to differ so if I want that confidence boosting sun-kissed glow then I have to fake it, both for my face and body. During the summer months, I’m rarely seen without a self-tan, everything just looks better with a bit of colour doesn’t it? If I’m using a self-tan suitable for facial use, I will occasionally add a little of that to my foundation, but often I find it too drying for my dehydrated skin and it clings to dry patchy areas which I’m prone to. What’s a girl to do? Drops Of Sun is the answer, an oil-based, no shimmer formula which blends like a dream and can be mixed with your usual moisturiser or base products. There really are no rules with this versatile product which comes with a handy pipette dropper for easy application, use it to literally dot it over your skin and blend.

“If I’m in a hurry I’ll apply a few drops for a thin layer over my foundation, building application until there’s enough depth of colour”

I’ve not had any issues with it highlighting dry areas and my skin remains supple. Unlike darkening drops, this just gives a subtle, buildable “post-holiday glow” to the skin.

This sounds right up my street! I love to fake tan too and find that fake tanning my face clings to dry patches as well and when I use so many products cleansing my face all the time it just washes off anyway! I definitely need to look into investing in this as it sounds amazing. Clare xx | https://www.clayaa.com

That’s so true, using a self-tan on the face is useless as like you say it’s got no chance with all the cleansing we do twice a day haha. This is a much better option! X

I swear the Bodyshop have majorly upped their game, I’m seeing such beautiful products from them! I am going in there next time I’m near my local one, I am fed up of being pale and always bit apprehensive about anything with tan in – you see some bad examples but this looks like a goodun xxx

I agree, I’ve not really bothered with The Body Shop for so long but kept seeing some fab bits on my insta feed. Had to go in and have a mooch. These drops are fab for a subtle glow. You definitely do see some bad examples out there! Xx

These sound great! I already love TBS Honey Bronzers, so I’m planning to pick up these bronzer drops as well.

Are the Honey Bronzers for the face or body? I’ve not seen those but will have a look next time I’m in there!

I’m one of those rare ones that doesn’t like to tan myself. I don’t mind a tinge but I think that’s because I already have a medium skin tone. These are a great option though for people that do love darkening things up.

Definitely! I’m so pale I need any help I can get! x

This sounds much better than their darkening drops. I had those but they turn foundation to quite an ashy shade ? these sound like the perfect answer though! I tend to use Mac powder matte bronzer for warming my skin. I wouldn’t mind giving this a go though!! (Your pics look fantastic too!) xx

Someone else told me the darkening drops can show up ashy too, probably just stick with these. My next bronzer purchase is the Bare Minerals Invisible bronzer. Looks fab! Xx

The Body Shop is really coming out with some great products. This is really nice, because you can mix it into your moisturizer, bb cream, foundation. It probably would replace wearing a bronzer.
