…That’s quite a claim, isn’t it? Kathleen is an all-natural, premier skincare brand, based and manufactured in Royal Leamington Spa UK. It’s a popular cruelty-free brand and one which I’d seen frequently pop up on my Instagram and Twitter feeds. When Kathleen contacted me and offered to send me their Silk Miracle Essence to try I was delighted.

“A skin essence isn’t a product I’ve tried before so I thought it would be something different to add to my routine”.

I’m very fortunate to test and try a diverse range of products, however, my passion lies with a more natural approach to beauty and skincare, Silk Miracle fits the bill perfectly.

Silk Miracle works by optimizing seven pure natural and marine extracts that promise to improve the appearance of your skin in seven dimensions – moisturising, softness, firmness, reduce the appearance of fine lines, environmental stress, even tone, crystal clear. 

 

 

Featuring in Tatler magazine, Silk Miracle come boxed and housed in a luxurious frosted bottle with a shiny chrome effect lid which slides off and has that expensive feel to its closure. There’s a definite, yet subtle scent to the product, not easy to put my finger on but I would say if you’ve ever tried a product containing Aloe Vera then in terms of scent – you’re on the right track.

That said, it sits nicely under the serum umbrella with its look and texture, in my opinion. When I read through the ingredients list the first I came across was marine collagen – derived from seaweed, other active ingredients include silk amino acid – a unique peptide which rejuvenates the skin, hydrates and protects against environmental stresses and vitamin E antioxidant which is always a fail-safe when it comes to great skincare.

 

 

Being skincare savvy I like to try a product for around four weeks, my reasoning being – the life cycle of a skin cell is on average twenty-eight days, therefore it can take a while to see any benefit or real change in our skin. Yes, we may see an instant brightening or a glow to our skin but the real difference will be seen further down the line.

Firstly, If I’m parting with £58.50 of my great British pounds, I want results. Being honest, I wasn’t completely overwhelmed by Silk Miracle, however, my skin is dry/dehydrated and with this in mind, I enjoyed fairly good hydration levels. First impressions were an instant silky feel and clarity, and In terms of a lasting result, some slight short-term plumping could be seen. The product absorbs well with no residue, making it an excellent makeup base.

Kathleen recommends applying Silk Miracle twice daily – morning and night, then follow with other products from the Kathleen range, or your own favourite skincare.

We all find a different result with skincare but with wonderful natural ingredients and a pleasing botanical scent, this one is a great place to start if you’re looking to add something a little different to your routine.
