As a self-confessed exfoliation addict, I’ve tried my fair share of brands to do the job, however, I hadn’t heard of Hey Good Lookin, before. Having launched their first two Organic Robusta Coffee Scrubs in December last year, the brand is set to go from strength to strength.
Hey Good Lookin was founded by a husband and wife team, wanting to create a product which actually makes a difference, and works. The past year has been spent developing the range of organic coffee body scrubs – designed to help Improve the skin by encouraging blood flow and circulation. Regular use may also reduce the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks. The scrubs also contain vitamins A, E, F & K.
I have the Coconut Body Scrub which I’ve been trying, and will share my thoughts on today…
Hey Good Lookin claim They believe in creating premium products at affordable prices, which do what they’re supposed to do. How do we know this? Because we have tried and tested each product ourselves, never on animals. We use super ingredients to give you the best possible products and would never use any harmful ingredients that we would never use on our skin.
All our coffee products are made with 100% Organic Robusta Coffee, why? One of the reasons is we get superior quality coffee beans which have a higher caffeine content to work better on your skin.
Also, by HGL using Organic Coffee, we ensure farmers are treated fairly. This allows us to give back and help farmers’ families as well as their local communities. This is important to us as our forefathers were farmers themselves.
Recently, I’ve been leaning towards a more ethical approach to my skincare. Favouring natural, organic products and becoming more conscious of the ingredient list. When I saw that Hey Good Lookin scrubs are naturally organic I was all the more keen to get the pouch open and give it a go.
I had the feeling it was going to smell gorgeous and I wasn’t disappointed. Think opening a fresh bag of filter coffee and that wonderful aroma filling your senses, even better, a twist of coconut to boot. Hey Good Lookin have cultivated their own brand hashtag #getmessygetscrubbin and there’s no mistaking why. Getting messy with this stuff is a fabulous experience.
Obviously, it’s coffee-based, so, once in the shower and the product mixes with water – expect to see coffee appearing. In terms of the particles, I look for a wet sand texture, and again, I wasn’t disappointed so that was a hit straight off.
The packaging is clean and has a fresh appeal, the pouch is plenty big enough to get your hand and scoop up the product. Coconut Body Scrub is one of those elusive products which, on opening, makes you want to jump for joy. A product which exceeds expectation in performance and leaves a wonderful lingering aroma on the skin. I was expecting my skin to feel smooth after use, as with any exfoliation but, honestly, not quite this silky smooth!
Something else a little different is the hydration it brings, leaving a feeling of moisture on the skin, almost as if you’ve rubbed in a light body oil along with the scrub. I didn’t feel the need to moisturise following use which is unusual for this type of scrub product. Another plus!
My daughter was keen to try It out too as she suffers from those little Milia pimples on the backs of her arms, she loved it and wants to continue using it. I can see us going through the pack in no time. Both coffee scrubs are available for £13.95 each. Visit Heygoodlookin to shop, or find out more.
