Founder, Deborah Mitchell kindly offered to send me the Bee Calm kit to try, and I couldn’t wait to get started testing all the products. Some of which I’ve tried and reviewed previously, if you would like to know more about those, including a little more about Deborah and her brand, read my full reviews – Chamomile Desensitising Hydrogel, Age Defiance Cream and Cleanse & Foam Wash. I have to say, the Chamomile Hydrogel is a firm favourite of mine and keeps my morning blotches at bay. I was thrilled to find a travel size included in this kit – perfect for my wash bag.

Bee Polish

Heaven skincare claims Bee Polish is the first non-abrasive, anti-ageing exfoliator which contains the patented formula ABEETOXIN®. The formula of bee venom and glycolic acid (Raw cane sugar) can alleviate fine lines and wrinkles and lighten pigmentation, whilst extracting toxins without harming the outer layer of the skin. Bee Polish also boosts the immunity of the skin due to the Echinacea content, making it great for those with acne and problematic/irritated skin. Suitable for all skin types, for people with sensitive skin/ eczema or blemish-prone skin use on top of New Edition Cleanser to minimise tingling sensation.

Have you heard the buzz? The use of Bee Venom in skincare has become a popular trend and is touted as nature’s botox.

Mimicking the sensation of being lightly stung, this, in turn, relaxes the facial muscles and claims to temporarily smooth lines and wrinkles. When applied to the skin It’s not uncomfortable at all, more a slight tingling sensation which I found subsides fairly quickly. So how does it work? The skin is tricked into thinking it’s been stung which triggers an immediate cellular reaction bringing increased blood flow to the skin’s surface. Collagen production increases as the skin’s natural healing process kicks in giving a firmer, brighter and plumper complexion.

I was pretty keen to try Bee Polish as the rave reviews are hard to ignore. I’ve used it as directed for around four weeks and I have to say this is the product I’ve found the most significant results. With a non-abrasive, no-scrub formula, it isn’t immediately obvious it’s actually doing anything until it’s rinsed off. I found my skin appeared polished after use, with a noticeably smoother tone. I’m pleased to announce, Bee Polish lives up to its reputation and I’ve been really impressed.

Hydro Cleansing Milk

Heaven Skincare claims Hydro Cleansing Milk hydrates, removes pollutants and deep cleanses. Organic jojoba is the closest match to the skin’s natural oil, which helps to balance and condition the skin which is what makes this cleanser the best for all skin types. Not only is it great for skin, but the hydro cleansing milk is a great stress buster thanks to its relaxing properties; rosemary and lavender. Suitable for all skin types particularly for those with drier, blemished or oily skin.

“This cleanser is perfect if, like me, you have drier skin”.

also promises to reduce the appearance of enlarged or open pores. This isn’t a particular concern of mine but, saying that, I do have some open pores across my chin. To use – Apply with fingertips, working it into the skin, remove with dampened cotton pads or rinse with water if you prefer. With anything of this nature, prolonged use is key to determining an end result – I have 10ml travel size in my kit which I’ve used sparingly for around four weeks and has lasted well, considering its size. Although I haven’t noticed a huge difference in my open pores there’s been some skin tightening immediately after use, which improved their appearance. Results may differ for individuals of course.

Willowbee Mask & Cleanse

Heaven Skincare claims WillowBee Mask & Cleanse is Our first mask to contain willow bark from the Willow tree, which is the natural organic alternative to aspirin, this has anti-inflammatory and healing properties making it great for those with acne, rosacea and eczema. WillowBee moisturises and works on fine lines, and wrinkles and removes impurities from pores which in turn eliminates blackheads and gives that anti-ageing effect.
WillowBee Mask & Cleanse is an interesting product as it can be used in several ways. Both as a cleanser and a mask but also as an overnight skin treat. It has a fresh botanical scent and a thicker consistency. Face masks aren’t a favourite of mine but since WillowBee can be used as an overnight treatment – I’ve been enjoying using it for that purpose, twice a week and have found my skin is smooth and a little firmer generally on waking.

Silver Bee Venom Mask

Heaven Skincare claims Silver Bee Venom Mask is their signature product and has gained a worldwide reputation. A revolutionary organic cream that works to control the facial muscles for tightening, firming and lifting; whilst penetrating fine lines, frown lines and wrinkles and giving that immediate anti-ageing effect. ABEETOXIN® is the natural alternative to botox and has healing properties making it great for those with blemished skin, rosacea, eczema, and dry and mature skin. Contains the venom of the worker bee.

This mask is a little unusual as it can be used over the eye area. I really like the idea as of course, the eye area is where we want to see as much improvement as possible. If your lips could use an extra plump, smooth on a small amount and watch as the lips visibly redden and fill out a little as the blood rushes to the surface.

Essential Moisturiser

Heaven Skincare claims Essential Moisturiser is perfect for Autumn Skin. Nourishes, Softens and Firms the skin helping with fine lines. Contains Organic Jasmine Essential Oil.

This moisturiser has a very similar Rose scent to the Chamomile Desensitising Hydrogel. It feels nourishing to use and works well under makeup. My skin felt hydrated and soft. The scent is fresh and uplifting, great for everyday use.

Dream Oil Serum

Heaven Skincare claims Dream Oil Serum helps to balance the oil levels, hydrate and feed the skin. Contrary to popular belief; oil stops the oil. Dream Oil is perfect for people with eczema or sensitive skin as the microbes in the Dream Oil kill bacteria and conditions skin to bring it back to equilibrium. The oil also promotes relaxation and induces sleep.

I’m a lover of oils and serums and use them regularly for both face, and body. I find not only a more visible result but also the process of massaging oils into the skin encourages that all-important blood flow to the skin’s surface which in turn plumps and hydrates. Dream Oil Is particularly good for those with spot or acne-prone skin. Saying that Spots are rarely seen on my skin so I’m not able to comment on the effectiveness there. If I’m perfectly honest I wasn’t overstruck with the scent of this serum as I tend to favour a sweeter fragrance. In terms of performance, I prefer to use it at bedtime and really massage it into my face, neck and chest area. On waking, my skin feels hydrated and a little finer in appearance. I’ve used the serum alone which is recommended but If you’re in need of an extra boost, Deborah suggests adding a few drops to any Heaven skincare moisturiser. Dream Oil comes with a handy pipette making the application easy.

On a side note, I’m sure it’s a question many would want answered, and that is – how on earth is bee venom extracted?

…I wanted to be sure that bees weren’t being harmed during the extraction and collection process. I was surprised to learn that the bees simply sting a pane of glass which has a very mild electric current running through it – just enough to stimulate the bees to sting. Bees only die following a sting if the “stinger” barb leaves their body. The glass allows them to retain their stinger and fly away unharmed. The venom is then collected from the glass. I was a little alarmed at the use of electrical stimulation but reassured to know the bees are not affected by this and it is a safe method for venom collection.

Would this kit be something you might give as a luxury gift?
