Go Metallic For Autumn With Max Factor

Go Metallic for Autumn. max factor. Red bronze 03

Autumn is here, officially. Which means it’s time to switch up our clothing, makeup and of course our nail colour accordingly.

I’m also bringing a bit of Autumn to The Beauty Spyglass as you’ll see. I like to keep things seasonal if I can! The best thing about Autumn for me is getting cosy with polo necks, scarves and boots but I also love to experiment with darker, berry shades for lips and nails.

Recently, during the Summer months metallics were trending and so, of course, I had to jump on the bandwagon. These gorgeous metallics aren’t just for summer though, I’m still wearing mine and loving them. I have three which have been my most reached for and so I thought I would share them with you.

All three are from Max Factor, one from the Glossfinity range in Midnight Bronze 60 and the other two are minis from the Max Effect range. Red Bronze 03 and Ivory 01. In my photos, I’m wearing the red bronze and Midnight Bronze shades. I love the formula of both, it’s so smooth and just glides on.

Max Factor claim:  Glossfinity, High gloss means high glamour. Pure, elegant glossy nails that last for up to 7 days in our specially formulated range.

Nail polish staying put for 7 days is quite a claim really, I mean most of us are always knocking, scuffing and clicking our nails.

Rummaging in our bags or clattering away on our keyboards etc. That said, I imagine this polish is a little tougher than the average with it being a metallic formula, as opposed to a cream. What I found is actually my polish didn’t chip as such but just starts to wear along the free edge which means I have to touch it up every other day or so. This one was no exception, just the worn look around the free edge.

To me, whether a polish stays looking perfect for days on end is down to lifestyle.

Max Effect Minis

Max Effect Nail Polish has a long-lasting and chip resistant formula, meaning that the beautifully bold shades will certainly make an impression whatever colour you choose.

I haven’t seen a seven-day claim with these, however, the metallic formula gives a bit more staying power to the polish. The formula is smooth and applies well. Although they are minis the brush is adequate and I would think around 8-10 two coat applications per pot. I’ve found they last quite well. These polishes are so affordable you can’t really go wrong, so handy for travel too. Surprisingly, removal is easy with little effort. I use a regular remover with no problem.

My favourite is the Red Bronze as the colour is a bit more striking than the others.

Mine have all lasted well but it will soon be time to see what else is out there in terms of metallics as I’m pretty sure with Christmas around the corner there will be plenty in the stores to choose from.

Yes red is gorgeous too, my face ever red is Essie, Dressed to Kilt. Not all reds suit my skin tone but that one is perfect. These are so mud though, especially with Christmas coming up. Thanks lovely x

These are so pretty! I love metallic nails especially in bronze and deeper shades they just look so chic. Although I’m definitely a sucker for doing just one metallic nail and the rest normal! I loved the shades in this post, I might have to pick some up myself as I’ve never seen these ones before!

The bronze looks great on your nails, and of course is a fabulous autumn color! I’ve got a couple silver nail polishes that I really like. Nice to see such a variety of metallics now. Have a gorgeous weekend!
