Clinique Pop Lip Colour And Primer | Beige Pop 04

Clinique Pop colour beige pop

Oh, the nude lipstick, bloggers favourite, and my most purchased.

I got into wearing nudes quite a while ago when they first hit the streets. I would sit for hours watching Lisa Eldridge on YouTube as she talked about a particular nude lipstick which I just had to have, I dashed out and purchased it the following day based on her recommendation. However, I didn’t find the staying power of said lippy as good as I was expecting, but the shade and the Formula were perfect. I repurchased, but now I’m literally at the end of the bullet again so I fancied a change. Staying true to the less is more kind of gal that I am, I do love a lippy I can quickly and discreetly re-apply without the need of a mirror. Hello, Clinique Pop Lip colour And Primer.

Clinique Colour Pop and Prime is a luxurious, yet weightless formula which merges bold, saturated colour with a smoothing primer. Glides on effortlessly to give a modern-velvet finish. Colour stays true and keeps lips comfortably moisturised for 8 hours. Allergy Tested. 100% Fragrance-Free.

Clinique beige Pop mini

Whilst recently mooching around the beauty counters at Heathrow Airport, as you do, I made a beeline for Clinique. There I spotted these cute little mini Colour Pop And Prime lipsticks. There are twenty-six shades to choose from and all oh so gorgeous I would literally take one of each. I’m naturally drawn to nude shades so after much swatching and deliberating I went for the Beige Pop shade. At that point, it was a difficult choice between that and the Sweet Pop shade as a little more colour was the other option.

I’m not keen on the thought of a ‘beige’ lip product and the name almost put me off, but I swatched it on the back of my hand and the colour I found was more of a neutral pinky nude.

Intrigued by Colour Pop And Primer,  I was eager to give it a try.

I found the formula indeed lovely and moisturising, It’s quite a creamy and it did stay on fairly well, my lips felt soft and moisturised whilst it was on. In terms of the primer effect, I didn’t see a huge difference between this and a regular lipstick, however, everyone has different lips, some are naturally smoother than others so I think it’s down to the individual, to be honest. That said, The formula is lovely and the colour is so wearable for every day. I will definitely repurchase this one and recommend trying this range if you haven’t already.

Next, let’s talk about staying power. Whenever a brand claim their product lasts for something silly like twelve hours, I always think oh really? Perhaps if you sit perfectly still, don’t eat, drink or talk then there’s a possibility but that’s not real life. Some I’ve tried don’t last at all, others have been better, but what about this particular one? Well, again wearing this lipstick throughout a normal day including talking, eating etc. I wouldn’t say the colour stayed true for eight hours but my lips definitely felt moisturised, even after the colour had faded. I’m someone who reapplies my lipstick regularly so with that in mind I am so tempted to buy another little Clinique Pop to add to my handbag and at £16.50 a pop (see what I did there) it’s a case of when not if.

The products always feel so high-end which I love and the pretty feminine packaging gets me every time. I talked about another Clinique contoutring product very recently. Read my thoughts on that here

I absolutely love the colour in beige pop! But the staying power is not very good. I’m lucky to get an hour out of it, without eating or drinking. Also it broke at the base shortly after I purchased it. I’m desperately trying to find a similar colour in Mac or another brand that will last longer on my lips. Any suggestions.
I have been taking my beige pop to other counters so they can swatch it, but other people keep recommending colours that are way too different. I would Love any help please! As this colour is fantastic! 🙂

Hey lovely! Thanks for your question. You’re right it’s a difficult shade to match up. I haven’t used Clinique in quite a while, as I now prefer to choose ethical brands etc. Have you looked at Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G range of lipsticks? The shade Nude Kate might be a close match. Its described as a pink toned nude which is how I would describe Beige Pop! If you need any more help, come back and let me know. Have a lovely Sunday x
