The subject of facial masks isn’t one you’ll often hear me talking about, as I’m usually pretty sceptical about their place in my skincare routine. Plus, being a busy wife and mum of one child, two dogs and two bunnies, I can’t seem to find the time so when I realised that Powermud Dualcleanse is applied and only needs 5-10 minutes to do the job I thought I would give it a go.
GlamGlow caught my eye recently when their Glowstarter moisturizer hit my radar. I recently noticed it in my local Boots, and of course, had to test it out on the back of my hand. (Smells divine ) When I get my hands on this I will share my thoughts here so look out for that coming soon (hopefully) I’ve included Glowstarter in the shopping link at the foot of the post in case you want to have a look at that too. Anyway, for now, back to Powermud Dualcleanse.

I have a sample size tube which is plenty for around two to three applications; Glamglow recommends using the mask once or twice a week for best results. I found the product has quite a distinctive smell, hard to describe but definitely more on the tropical side. It’s a ‘light mud’ in colour with tiny particles. Easy to apply and smooths on well. I found using it quite an enjoyable experience.
Immediately, I could feel a tingling sensation and as the mask began to dry and I could definitely feel it tightening across my face.
Once it’s fully dry it becomes a little more transparent. I left mine on for the recommended time, around 10 minutes all told. To remove, just splash your face with water and use circular motions until it’s all rinsed away. Whilst rinsing, the mask becomes an oily consistency (hence the mud to oil claim) so for this reason, it’s great for dry or dehydrated skin like mine.
After rinsing, my skin felt really clean and soft with no tightness, however, I did have a little reddening of my skin particularly across my forehead. This settled fairly quickly and didn’t really cause me any concern. I’m not sure how deeply this mask cleanses but I definitely felt it was doing something. I’ve used it twice now and had good results with it on both occasions.
