A bit of wishful thinking today. Whenever the sun comes out to play at this time of year it always makes me want to throw on some spring-like clothes. Often though, once outside it’s actually still really cold! *Heads back inside for a cardi* Anyway, I thought I would share a few of these Summer essentials with you all.
I’m a self confessed brand snob, however, New Look and Topshop are great for high fashion pieces which don’t cost an arm and a leg. I love mooching around in there looking for items which I can mix and match with my branded bits.
Going off track here; It might be just me but each summer I find it very difficult to find a plain semi-fitted white T-shirt which isn’t a flimsy, slubby type fabric and isn’t see-through, for me this type of tee, well just looks BAD. ‘Next’ do have the odd one but I find their sizing on the large size and with being a uk size 6 everything just seems to swamp me.
Last summer I was all over off the shoulder tops. short, mid or long-sleeved, I’m also a fan of the ‘cold shoulder’ look. I have a lovely black off shoulder top from New Look which I wore literally to death through the summer. looks so lovely tucked into my favourite jeans with a pair of sandals. It’s still got enough life left in it for some use this Summer. This style of top has been seen on the runways in the last few weeks so will definitely be sticking around for S/S 17 (Yay)!
Another love of mine is Denim. I love to wear a denim shirt loosely over jeans (not matching colours of course) and a pair of trainers. It’s sort of in-between when it’s not quite warm enough for a tee but too warm for a cardi! This denim midi skirt with mid waist is also great for those in-between days.
Who doesn’t love a stylish pair of gold sandals?! I bought mine from Topshop last Summer, quite late in the season and as you can see I didn’t end up wearing them much but will be getting them out again this Summer for sure, They lace up around your ankle and look really cool, well I think so.
Loccitane Fleurs de Cerisier (Cherry Blossom) is an absolutely beautiful feminine fragrance, It literally smells of summer, think Cherry blossom mixed with fabric softener, That’s how I describe it and I just love it. I spray it all over me after a shower, it’s such a fresh gorgeous smell, I’m obsessed with it! if you’re looking to snare yourself a man then get yourself over to loccitane and order some of this! Apparently Men love the scent of Cherry Blossom. I wore this particular one on my first date with my now hubby, after watching QVC beauty and hearing Alexis Murdoch from the brand describing how men are attracted to the scent of cherry blossom. I sprayed it all over me and nervously headed off to meet my date. Four years on and we’re still crazy in love (and married) There just might be something in it! Worth a try.
Most of my trinkety type jewellery comes from Asos, they have such cute bits and bobs, inexpensive too and great for colour coordinating etc.
For nails, it’s Nailsinc ‘Mayfair Lane’ beautiful nude pink tone and perfect for Spring/Summer, this one has a gel type finish.
Finally my vintage Burberry sunnies! they are a gorgeous muted pink tone with the iconic all over burberry check in pink. They come out every now and then!
