As you may have realised, if you regularly read my blog, I am slightly fanatical about sun care, and avoiding damage to my skin, and in particular my face. With that in mind, and knowing the skin around our eyes is thinner and more delicate we really should be giving it a little extra protection. We are more at risk of the eye area showing signs of ageing if we do not protect it properly. I.e with SPF and sunglasses. The damaging rays can penetrate this area easily due to there being less fatty tissue under the skin under and around our eyes.
I worked for many years in the field of Optics and so I know about keeping eyes healthy.
For me though, aside from wearing sunglasses when out and about on sunny days; using a cream specially formulated for the delicate eye area is essential. This one has an SPF of 30 so it’s the perfect solution to protect this area and also ward off that crepy skin we all dread. Not to mention other signs of damage such as pigmentation spots. You can always tell who’s been sun worshipping.
Eye SPF cream is a mineral based formula and also has the added benefit of skin brighteners which lighten and brighten. It can be applied over the entire area including the mobile lids, It also restores moisture levels and you’ll only need to apply it once a day. Use very sparingly though, you will need only to apply a few tiny dots and then gently pat it in until it is absorbed.
Protect the delicate eye area with Ultrasun’s SPF30+ Eye Cream; a lightweight, hydrating formula that works to shield from photo-ageing and harmful UVA and UVB rays.
Fortified with Biophytex® and antioxidants, the fast-absorbing cream delivers high protection to the thinnest and most sensitive area of the face, whilst minimising the appearance of dark circles and fine lines to reveal a smoother, brighter and more refined eye contour.
Ultrasun Eye suncare is free from silicones, perfume and preservatives. It’s also suitable for contact lens wearers and is particularly suited to those with sensitive skin.
Firstly, I made sure I only used a tiny amount as I had read reviews where applying too much has meant problems with it absorbing. I applied 3 tiny dots under and a couple more around my eyes. I gently tapped it into my skin and I found the application easy, I wasn’t left with any roll off or residue and it absorbed quickly. Also, I was pleasantly surprised to find I wasn’t left with any residual ‘whiteness’. The eye area did look a little brighter than usual which is great and felt nicely moisturised for the day.
This is a fantastic cream if you want to make sure your eye area is protected with the added benefit of brightening and moisturising. I’ve even worn it to bed, no SPF needed there I know, but it serves as a good eye cream generally. No puffiness on waking and my skin felt soft.
