It’s official, I am now a Lush convert. After resisting the tantalising aroma wafting from any given Lush store, for some time now I finally decided to go in and see what all the fuss is about. Whilst wandering around looking at all the different products, a very helpful assistant took me under her wing and went through some of the questions I had regarding ingredients etc. I’m not overly keen on anything artificial in terms of fragrance and I do like to know what i’m putting on my skin.
I was very pleased to hear that Lush actually use lots of natural stuff, they don’t test on animals and some of their products are self preserving, in particular the Ultrabalm and the Vegelene all-purpose balms which only have three ingredients! I Purchased both of these for my daughter over Christmas. She suffers with chapped lips a fair bit and so I thought she could keep the ultrabalm by her bed and the small vegelene in her school bag.
Also, I had to buy some soap of course, if only to sit in a soap dish in the bathroom looking pretty and smelling nice! Mine are Magic wand and shooting stars, both of which smell gorgeous. I was able to choose a fresh slice from the block for both.

Other products I couldn’t resist. Pictured are Popcorn and Sugar Plum Fairy flavours. They are basically sugar mixed with a few other natural ingredients, oils etc. The popcorn is self preserving also. They smell and taste delicious. They are edible although I wouldn’t recommend eating them. If you do get the odd grain of sugar left on your lips it’s okay to lick it off and it does taste yummy. They leave your lips lovely and soft and are so easy to use. I would definitely recommend them.
I find the assistants in the three stores I’ve been in so far both very helpful and knowledgeable and only too pleased to demonstrate bath bombs etc.
I have lots more recently purchased Lush goodies to review here so keep an eye out for those! Have a look at the Lush Lip Scrubs and balms here.
